Most people assume press-on nails are single-use. In fact, press-ons applied with adhesive tabs can be worn many times if you remove them properly. That's the real difference from gel and nail stickers: they're not a disposable, they're a small accessory you can keep.
Three things that make them reusable
- Apply with adhesive tabs (or jelly glue), not liquid nail glue. Liquid glue bonds too strongly and can damage both the press-on and your natural nail when you remove it.
- Remove gently: soak in warm water for 3–5 minutes to soften the adhesive, then lift carefully from the side. Never pick them off. Full steps in how to remove press-on nails.
- Clean off the residue: leftover tab adhesive rubs off with your fingers. For stubborn bits, wipe the inside with an alcohol pad. Don't scrape with anything sharp.
Storage
- Make sure they're completely dry before storing. Moisture affects how well they stick next time.
- Put them back in the crystal case in finger order, so you don't have to match sizes again next time.
- Keep them out of heat and direct sun (cars, windowsills), which can affect the hand-painted and shine layers.
- Use new adhesive tabs each time you wear them.
The life of a set
With normal use, a handmade set can easily be worn three to five times or more. Many of our customers wear a set to a concert, keep it, wear it again when they want to remember that night, then again for a date. Those memories can keep coming back.
FAQ
Will they get less sticky each time?
The stickiness comes from the adhesive tab, not the nail itself. With a fresh tab each time, they'll hold just like the first time.
The edge has lifted slightly. Can I still use it?
Minor warping can be softened in warm water and gently pressed back into shape. If it's clearly cracked or the paint is peeling, it's time to retire it.
I have lots of sets. How do I keep them organised?
One set per case, with a label on each (which show, which day). It becomes your own wall of fingertip ticket stubs.
